Career Development

At Leisureworld, the pursuit of academic excellence includes a variety of initiatives including internal promotions, in-services, financial support to employees in achieving their career development goals and various training programs.  Specifically, the Director of Care (DOC) and Director of Administration (DOA) in Training program provides to advance to the position of DOC or DOA with support and resources from Leisureworld.

Education

Leisureworld offers tuition assistance to all permanent employees for courses and certification programs that benefit both Leisureworld and your personal aspirations. 
Our staff receives extensive education and support through workshops, conferences, and training for all levels of positions.  In 2007 alone, our homes educated staff on 87 different topics related to resident care and staff development.

Through daily interaction with residents and their families, our employees are making significant differences while developing valuable relationships.  At Leisureworld our employees provide innovative services that take into account the many medical challenges that come with age.   We adopt best practices in palliative and tender care and demonstrate real vigilance with specialized monitoring and ongoing education.   Whether caring for someone in long term care, or during a short convalescent stay, we earn our wings every day.

Leisureworld offers a variety of special programs to assist employees achieve work life balance.  The Employee and Family Assistance Program is a cost free, confidential and professional counseling service offered to all Leisureworld employees, regardless of status, and their immediate families to assist with solving various problems and challenges.   In addition, to help promote a healthy environment, Leisureworld offers wellness sessions at each home covering topics such as stress, financial management, time management, change management and much more to help our employees achieve this balance.
