Accommodation

Leisureworld Caregiving Centres offer a variety of accommodation options. People living in our homes pay a fee for accommodation that is based on the type or style of room they reside in. The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care sets the room rates for all long-term care homes in Ontario.  

Preferred Accommodation is the term used to describe private rooms. Semi-private, basic or standard accommodation are terms used to describe shared rooms.

Please note that the features of a private, semi-private or basic/standard accommodation will vary according to when the particular home was constructed or renovated.

Preferred or Private Accommodation
The advantages of a preferred or private room are many. If you like to read late at night, listen to your favorite music early in the morning, or prefer your own private bathroom, a private room is for you or your loved one. Best of all, family members can visit and stay as long as they wish in the privacy of your own room. Granted, a room of one’s own is a bit more costly; nevertheless, a good number of our residents and their families find that the comfort and freedom of preferred or private accommodation is well worth the extra expenditure.
  
Semi-Private or Basic/Standard Accommodation
Semi-private, basic or standard accommodation are terms used to describe shared rooms. Each one of our Leisureworld homes match up people in terms of gender and we also do our best to match up people who have a variety of things in common.

In selecting any of the above accommodation options, visitors and family members are encouraged to take a tour of the home and see the different types of accommodation that are available.
