Leisureworld Caregiving Centre Etobicoke is situated in the Highway 427 and Finch area. This home opened in 2001 and the 160 residents who call it home have the choice of either private or shared accommodation. Two of the five home areas are devoted to meeting the cultural and linguistic needs of residents of Italian heritage. In addition there is a state-of-the art Tender Care home called “Windsor Heights” for Alzheimer’s residents. The “homey” atmosphere at Leisureworld Etobicoke results from a vital connection amongst residents, family and staff. It focuses on the combination of physical and cognitive health for its residents, which is reflected in the new wellness room containing a full complement of exercise equipment for physiotherapy and restorative care, and a resource library with many health-related books.
