Leisureworld Caregiving Centre Altamont is located amidst acres of parkland bordering the Rouge Valley Conservation area. This home, which opened in 1968, has a unique architecture with an “A” frame shape, wood and brick construction and wrap-around windows making for a very cottage-like feeling. The spacious two-story lobby opens into a large lounge area with a fireplace. The home is set in a beautiful landscape of natural gardens which grow not only flowers, but vegetables too. The 159 residents who call Leisureworld Altamont home enjoy this lovely outdoor setting and during the warm months spend many enjoyable hours visiting and strolling in the gardens with family and friends. With the arrival of colder weather, the focus turns indoors as residents remain active with a variety of programs and events. In addition, the staff provide quality care through programs such as Restorative Care, Physiotherapy, and Palliative Care.
